2024 Christmas Shop - Christmas for the Least of These

October: Baker Re-Entry

Christmas Shop… for the Children of Baker Re-Entry Inmates. Christ's Church has been given the unprecedented opportunity of hosting a Christmas Shop for the children and grandchildren of inmates at the Baker Re-Entry Center. Many of these inmates are already members of Christ's Church through the CC Discipleship program and this is a way to help them do something they cannot provide on their own - Christmas for their kids.

The Baker Christmas Shop will involve 3 separate events: 1) A toy selection party hosted on Oct 18 for inmates where they can pick exactly what they want to give to their child/grandchild 2) A sort and gift wrap party on December 4 3) A Christmas Shop Party for children and their moms/guardians on December 7.

Help these dads and grandads by purchasing gifts on the toy registry and volunteering at the sort and wrap and Christmas Shop parties. This is the first of several ways to provide Christmas for some of the least, but very deserving of these.

NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER: Baker, Refugees and Active Duty Military

Christmas Shop… for the Children of Refugee Families. Beyond90 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that bridges the gap to self-sufficiency by providing support services, mental health, skills building classes and housing to refugees as they work to build new lives in Northeast Florida. Refugees are officially sanctioned new residents of the US. Some have waited as long as 20 years to receive legal notification of entry to the US. But what captures our heart the most is that many of these families have never seen a proper representation of Jesus. This year we're deepening our relationship with First90/Beyond90 and desire to show them who Jesus really is through our love and service. A special Christmas Shop event will be offered on December 14. Registration to participate will begin in November.

Christmas Shop… for the Children of Active Duty Military. God has been active in our military ministry allowing us to participate and support two different base chapel services, and act as a primary faith-based representative in two different shore support organizations. This year, our time at Mayport will include the students of the Mayport school we will be hosting in, but also invitations to ALL of the Mayport military families with children in the age range for the shop. We are hoping to serve over 500 children in this one shop alone. Christ's Church has committed to step up to this deserving community big time. We trust we can count on you to join as we collect toys and donations and host a Christmas Shop. Registration begins November 1.

Or DONATE NEW TOYS directly! You can take advantage of this Amazon link to donate toys and have them shipped directly to Christ’s Church (6045 Greenland Rd. Jacksonville FL 32258) or you can drop off.
